MENDOTA – A special Career Day event was held at Mendota District 289 on Wednesday. Students in 7th and 8th grade were able to choose from over 35 different presentations to attend to learn about a number of occupations available in the area. Over 240 students from Northbrook School and Holy Cross took part in the activities. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police brought their educational trailer and a boat for students to see in person. Other speakers, including lawyers, doctors, electricians, and others each spent about twenty minutes talking about their profession and answering questions.
