Streator High School’s FFA recognized by the city for accomplishments

SHS FFA leaders who were involved in national competitions

STREATOR – Streator High School’s FFA members received recognition from the city council on Wednesday. Streator High School FFA advisor and agriculture teacher Riley Hintzche presented FFA members who competed in various competitions including the 2022 National FFA Convention, placing 17th out of 34 chapters.

In addition, FFA leaders also submit their work to the National Chapter Award Program, judged at the state and national level for growth, fostering community, and strengthening agriculture locally. Hintzche says since 2014 the chapter has remained in the top 30 agriculture programs in the state, and was named the 2022 state premier chapter. On top of that, the chapter was also judged at a national level, ranking top ten in the country out of 9,000 programs.
