MENDOTA- A fire destroyed a bus and trailer Saturday morning on I-39 that was carrying a gospel group from Tennessee. Mendota, Troy Grove and Paw Paw Fire Departments were called around 4:20 AM to near the Lee/LaSalle County Line, where they found the vehicle fully engulfed. All occupants were out of the bus and no injuries were reported. In a statement on social media, the group known as the “Triumphant Quartet” thanked their bus driver, Jamie Bramlett for waking all the sleeping passengers and getting everyone off the bus swiftly and carefully.
