MINONK – Fieldcrest Community Unit District 6 school announced Wednesday that they will be trying to reduce building heating costs by turning down the thermostat.  Superintendent Dr. Kari L. Rockwell said that a drastic increase in natural gas prices could potentially increase their costs over 80 times the regular rate for excess use.  All four buildings in the district are affected by this, and the administration is encouraging parents to make sure their children are dressed appropriately until the weather changes.
