OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College has added a pair of business computer courses to its second eight-week schedule beginning Oct. 8. Introduction to Business Computer Systems is offered in a blended format with lecture online and a face-to-face lab at Ottawa Center, 321 W. Main St. Instructor Chris Jauch will teach students computer concepts, terminology, equipment, system analysis and design; management information systems; and applications. Spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentations are emphasized as well as email and internet.
Orientation to IT Professions is completely online with cybersecurity program coordinator Nancy McDonnell. Students will learn various areas of IT as well as employment skills, current issues, salaries and certifications recommended for various IT jobs.
