SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Sunday announced 1,343 new cases of COVID-19, including 60 additional deaths. Of the reported deaths, 12 were from outside the Chicagoland area. Since the pandemic began, there have been 120,260 cases, including 5,390 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 21,154 specimens for a total of 898,259 tests. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from May 24–May 30 is 7%.
