SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday announced 1,527 new cases of COVID-19 and 104 additional deaths, 16 of those in regions outside of Chicagoland.
Since the pandemic began, there have been a total of 115,833 infections, including 5,186 deaths. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests given from May 21–May 27 is 8.3%
