They say you should be mindful of any unsolicited offers for roofing or paving work, especially with a deal too good to be true. The scammers will target senior citizens and sometimes use the interaction or sales pitch to distract the homeowner so an accomplice can commit a burglary. The Peru Police Department reminds everyone that businesses must be licensed through the city when soliciting door to door. Please keep on eye on elderly neighbors and remind them of the possibility of scammers approaching them.
