Tiniest Gold Coin Minted in Switzerland

BERLIN (AP) — It’s a tiny coin — that could give you a giant smile. Officials in Switzerland have minted a gold coin that’s so small, you need a magnifying glass to make out the image on the front site. When you do, you’ll get a kick out of it — because the image is of Albert Einstein sticking out his tongue. State-owned Swissmint says the new 0.12-inch gold coin is the smallest in the world, weighing in at 1/500th of an ounce. It’s worth about a quarter in U.S. currency. Swissmint says the limited-edition coin comes with its own magnifying glass so owners can see the famous physicist — extended tongue and all.
