MENDOTA – Officials celebrated after a ribbon cutting of what they say was the largest flour mill ever built from the ground up in North America Wednesday in Mendota. Archer Daniels Midland President of Milling said “Our growth investment to design and build a cutting-edge production facility from the ground up highlights our commitment to growth for our customers, our shareholders and the state of Illinois”
The new mill can mill spring, winter and soft wheat varieties plus two types of whole wheat. Construction of the facility included Three bulk truck load-outs and a rail load-out, a 30,000-square-foot warehouse, and a brand new lab.
