Finances were brought to the forefront Wednesday afternoon in the trial of the man accused in the concealment and murder of his sister in law. A former loan manager testified that Clifford Andersen had 15 high interest loans with her agency and the defendant always paid them on time. A manager with a savings bank noted that Deborah Dewey had taken substantial amounts of money out of a retirement account between 2015 and 2016. When the manager asked Dewey if she was doing some remodeling, she replied saying she was helping someone out. The morning session featured a state police forensic scientist testifying that tests for blood were negative on personal items belonging to Andersen. However, a wheel of the carpet cleaner that was alleged to be used in the clean-up of the murder scene was positive for Andersen DNA. Testimony will resume tomorrow in Putnam County.
