Five Teens Injured in Single Vehicle Accident

OTTAWA – Five teenagers were hospitalized after a single vehicle accident five miles east of Grand Ridge yesterday afternoon.
According to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s office, a vehicle driven by a 16 year-old male from Ottawa was driving north on East 23rd road when for unknown reasons, they struck a cement railing and continued off the road into a ditch.
The passengers three 16 year-old males from Ottawa and a 17 year-old male from Marseilles, along with the driver, were taken to an Ottawa hospital. One of the passengers was transferred via Life Flight Helicopter to Peoria for his injuries. The accident remains under investigation by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s office.
