St. Louis 6, Ottawa 0. OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and Jake Allen made 30 saves Tuesday night as the St. Louis Blues shut out the Ottawa Senators 6-0. Magnus Paajarvi, Patrik Berglund, Alex Steen and Ivan Barbashev also scored for the Blues. Ottawa goalie Andrew Hammond had 24 saves in his first start since mid-December.

Illinois 68, Northwestern 61. EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Malcolm Hill scored 14 points Tuesday night to lead Illinois past Northwestern 68-61. Te’Jon Lucas, Maverick Morgan and Michael Finke added 11 points apiece for the Illini, who held the Wildcats to about 34 percent shooting from the field. Bryant McIntosh led Northwestern with 21 points.

Illinois State 82, Drake 53. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Paris Lee had 26 points on Tuesday night as Illinois State routed Drake 82-53. Keyshawn Evans added 16 points for the Redbirds, who bounced back from Saturday’s 86-45 loss against Wichita State. Billy Wampler scored 12 points and was the only player in double figures for the Bulldogs.


Cubs news. CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Cubs star Anthony Rizzo has extended an invite to a 12-year-old boy who was severely beaten by a classmate at a suburban Chicago school. Rizzo tweeted his invitation to Henry Sembdner to watch batting practice and a game, saying he’d heard the boy was a Cubs fan. Authorities say Henry suffered facial fractures and other injuries in Friday’s attack.
