HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
Boys
Streator 47, Morris 43
The Bulldogs pulled off a big non-conference at home over the Morris Redskins and remain undefeated at Pops Dale Gymnasium so far this season (4-0). Streator (12-9) led through every quarter throughout the game, leading by as much as ten points at several points in the second half. Morris chipped away at the Bulldogs lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring the home team 24-18 in the final frame, but strong defense by Streator in the remaining three minutes kept the ‘Skins at bay.
Dakota Limberg led Streator with 14 points, Adam Brown chipped in eight points, including a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line, and Mitch Vickers also poured in eight points. The Bulldogs head to Plano on Friday to continue in Interstate Eight action. Plano pulled off a win over Streator last week in the Interstate Eight tournament semi-finals, 51-47, to make for an itching rematch Friday night. With Streator at 5-1 in the conference and Plano undefeated at 6-0, a win for the Bulldogs will give them a tie for the conference lead. Tip-off Friday at Plano is 7 PM for varsity, JV tips prior at 5:30.
